Marco Beach Ocean Resort Marco Island

As we wrap up our 5 day vacation at Marco Beach Ocean Resort, I'm honored to give this resort 4 stars. This resort resides on a great piece of property with one of the best beaches I've had the pleasure to be on. The staff and service were great, the rooms were clean and the onsite amenities were great. From what I can tell, most rooms over the 7th floor had some sort of water view. We were on the 6th floor and still can't complain with our garden/pool view. The layout was a bit odd and different from most resorts whose pool normally overlooks the ocean/gulf. It is true, you do have to go thru a garage to get to the beach. My only complaint is the valet parking (and no self-park option). While I know that most resorts charge a daily parking fee, the $18/day valet is more expensive than the other surrounding resorts, plus you feel obligated to tip on top of that daily fee. The parking garage didn't feel full even though the resort was sold out. Seems reasonable to have a self-park option.

Some things I wish I knew before the last day:
1. The drinking water provided at the ocean/pool was icy cold and had lemons in it. This beats a beach cocktail any day - honest.
2. The sunset at the Italian restaurant should not be missed any night you are on the resort. Head up to the deck if you're not dining. Simply breathtaking.
3. Get over the trip thru the garage to get to the beach. Don't let anything take away from the great experience.
4. The pool is nice and the water is warm. Get in there!
